Nina Pimentel Founder/ Dance Instructor
Nina Pimenel studied Folklorico Arts with Regional Dance School in Merido Yucatan, Mexico from 1983 to 1986. She dance professionally from 1984 to 1996. Nina has been teaching dance classes since 1999 all around the south Texas area. She founded Academy of Arts Mexico in 2015 to provide children and adults with a fun way to introduce arts and exercise into their lives. She believes a healthy lifestyle is important for a happy, healthy life.
Jorge Pimentel Founder
Jorge Pimentel started dancing in 1980 as a member of Ballet Folklorico de Naucalpan. He was awarded a scholarship to contuine his studies in dance at The University of Naucalpan. From 1981 to 1983, he worked as a dancer on a television show called “Mexico , Magia y Encuentro.” He also worked as a professional dancer in Cancun, Mexico. Jorge has taught and danced in many workshops and performances around Texas.
Krystal Netwich Ballet Instructor
Krystal started dancing at the age of 3. A hyperactive child, her mother needed a constructive way to channel her extra energy. Her studio years consisted of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and tumbling. At age 16, she was offered a job as an Assistant Dance Instructor, and was later promoted to teaching her own classes. Krystal studied dance at Palo Alto College and Northwest Vista College. There she learned a variety of new genres including modern, belly dancing, Indian dance, ballroom, and swing. She found her passion for learning new styles of dance. In her spare time, Krystal likes tospend time with family and friends, read, and swing dance. Her and friends have even started their own podcast and swing dance crew!
Brandon Ebo Hip hop Instructor
My name is Brandon Ebo, I love art and I love to dance. I prefer to be in, or try to provide peaceful environment for acceptance, but with very good energy, eye contact, and encouragement. Waking up everyday strving to be more creative than yesterday and to exchange dance with others. To me that is what makes humanity amazing. Hopefully sharing and teaching this by feeling through HipHop and other dance will help the kids and me as well.
Victoria De La Rosa Jazz Instructor/ Ballet Substitute
Victoria started dancing at age 3, focusing on ballet and tap. At age 8 she began studying Ballet Folklorico. In high school, she joined her schools dance team and competition Ballet Folklorico group. She received her Associates degree in Dance from Northwest Vista College in 2014. In her spare time Victoria likes to play with her son and fill her Pinterest board with home renovation projects and DIY decor.
Arica Basil Hip Hop Instructor
Arica Basil has been dancing for 10 years. She started dancing at James Madison high school where she did four years of dance team. She then went to Northwest Vista College where she studied jazz, modern, and ballet. She also performed with the repertory ensemble and graduated with an Associate’s of Arts in Dance. After, she continued education at Texas State University where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts with emphasis in Dance Studies. Arica was also apart of a company at Texas State called CIMTEYA (Creation in Motion Traveling Ensemble for Young Audiences). The company is geared towards young audiences and travels to elementary schools teaching S.T.R.E.A.M through creative movement. Recently, she was able to intern at the Coco Dance Festival in Trinidad and Tobago where she helped with festival administration and was able to perform at the festival as well. Arica’s favorite styles of dance are Hip-Hop and Modern. In her free time, she loves to cook and draw. She has taught several Hip Hop workshops at Texas State. She is looking forward to helping kids develop their skills.
